Vata Time

2-6 AM & 2-6 PM

Best for creative work, movement, and light activities. Energy is mobile and airy.

Pitta Time

10 AM – 2 PM & 10 PM – 2 AM

Before Sunrise (5-6 AM)

Wake Up Early

Rising during Vata time, before sunrise, sets a peaceful tone for the day. This is when the environment is quiet and the mind is naturally clear.

Morning Cleansing & Self-Care

Essential Morning Rituals

Tongue Scraping

Gently scrape the tongue from back to front to remove accumulated toxins (ama) and bacteria.

The tongue is a mirror of digestive health. Morning coating indicates undigested food from previous day.

Oil Pulling

Swish 1 tablespoon of sesame or coconut oil in your mouth for 5-10 minutes, then spit out.

Warm Water

Drink a glass of warm water, optionally with lemon, to kindle digestive fire and encourage elimination.
